Shenzhen will host the fifth International Dubai Business Forum on 14 May 2026, marking the forum’s second edition in China. Organised by Dubai Chambers, the event aims to strengthen China-Middle East trade ties, attract foreign investment, and highlight Dubai as a global hub for business and innovation.
Dubai: A Strategic Gateway for Chinese Companies
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, described Dubai as a key platform for Chinese firms seeking international growth.
“We are creating real opportunities for companies to expand in the digital economy, helping Chinese businesses leverage Dubai’s strategic position to grow globally,” he said.
Lootah also noted that Dubai’s 27 bilateral free trade agreements make it an advantageous destination for exporters and a gateway to multiple international markets.
Focus on Technology and Artificial Intelligence
The forum will particularly target service-oriented technology companies, with a special focus on artificial intelligence (AI). AI applications are expanding rapidly across sectors such as healthcare, finance, and smart cities, and Dubai is encouraging Chinese AI startups and established firms to set up operations in the emirate.
Dubai’s digital economy strategy aims to contribute 20 percent of total economic output by 2033, with the sector expected to reach an estimated 200 billion yuan (US$28.6 billion) in value.
Strengthening China-UAE Trade Relations
The UAE is China’s largest trading partner in the Arab region, handling nearly 60 percent of Chinese goods re-exported to the Middle East and North Africa.
Over the past decade, the number of Chinese companies registered with Dubai Chambers has more than tripled, reflecting Dubai’s growing reputation as a global business and investment hub.
Previous Editions and Forum Significance
This will be the second time the International Dubai Business Forum is held in China, following the successful 2024 edition in Beijing. The event offers a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and investment opportunities, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and investors from around the world.
The forum is expected to enhance Dubai’s role in global trade, particularly in the digital economy and technology sectors, while fostering deeper China-Middle East business cooperation.
